Vanessa Hicks - Chief Executive Officer
Vanessa is a qualified health professional, currently at executive level, with a nursing background and diverse experience in a range of roles, including management, change management, strategy and finance. She possesses a sound understanding of budget, funding and financial issues. Recently she was Director of Revenue Financial Services at Melbourne Health. In this role she was committed to change in order to facilitate turning around the organisation's financial situation in extremely challenging times, optimising revenue captured, collection and cost reduction across a number of campuses in public health.
Trudi O'Donnell - Conference, Events, and Relationships Manager
Recently celebrating her 12 months with HFMA, Trudi's role as Relationship Manager involves working with our Members and Corporate Partners to build strategic relationship for the Association. After 10 years in financial community banking, Trudi decided it was time for change and set off to have a higher purpose. Working with HFMA has engaged her ability, through her role, to support a healthy Australia.
Michael Carney - Programs and Education Manager
Michael's role as Programs and Education Manager at HFMA allows him to work closely with key stakeholders in the sector to develop HFMA programs. With a clinical background as a Physiotherapist, Michael has developed a strong interest in the business of healthcare through a range of roles in operational management, business development and regional management, along with the completion of an MBA.
Graham Cowcher - National Membership Manager
Graham has recent experience in both the public and private healthcare settings. His experiences include commissioning services in the newly opened St John of God Midland (WA) Public Private Hospital and project planning of non-clinical services at the Fiona Stanley Hospital. After initially qualifying as a nurse Graham has enjoyed extensive experience in business ownership and management, change management and process redesign and also with experiences in local government and manufacturing.
Heath Penbrook - Marketing & Communications
Heath found his passion for marketing and communications in the finance industry. Heath moved into the not-for-profit sector and did marketing and events for a major tourist attraction here in Bendigo. As our more recent addition to the team, Heath now manages all aspects of HFMA's ongoing marketing and communication strategy and execution.
Dannielle Hoyle - Projects and Systems Support
Dannielle is the Projects and Systems support officer at HFMA, which leads her to create marketing for the range of events on offer, alongside developing the new HFMA website and assist with the growth of the e-learning program. Dannielle recently graduated from University with an Honours in Microbiology, and a passion to learn any new concept or skill she encounters in her position with us.
Swathi Suresh - Administration Officer
Swathi has more than 7 years of experience in administration and has worked in procurement and marketing roles before joining HFMA. Prior to moving to Australia in 2015, she worked at the Medical Research Centre, Doha (Qatar) as an Administration Assistant supporting day to day operations and medical research projects. She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and believes that "there are no secrets to success. It is a result of preparation, hard work and learning from past experience."
